We were out birdwatching this weekend for The Great Backyard Bird Count. It has been a great motivator to get out the door and enjoy the winter nature around us.
Speaking of the nature around us the kids and I have decided to start a new blog dedicated to our nature studies. We are calling it The Outskirts Nature Journal.
There we are going to share more about what we have been learning and the resources we use. We are also adding some lists on the sidebar. We have already started our Bird List for 2012. We will also be adding lists of other critters we are spotting along with the guides we love to help us learn about those creatures
Over at The Outskirts Nature Journal we are having a giveaway and would love for you to click over and check it out. Today is the last day of the bird count and the last day to enter to win the giveaway as well.
Thanks!
Happy Bird Coutning!

Nice pix. Finished my Backyard Bird Count today. Not too much excitement. Did have some Robins and Red-Winged Blackbirds, oh, and some Grey Catbirds. Other than that, just the usual suspects; Gulls and Crows.
Thanks Papa. Fionna is interested in seeing a Gray Catbird. She also liked what you said about the "usual suspects" :)
