What do ya do on a February day when the morning starts out a bit rough?
Head out to find a new trail of course.
Wondering about the neatly set up pile of branches. Trap?
And we found an amazing one. Lots of rocks to navigate, ice to explore and critters to watch. A good way to reset the day!
How is winter in your neck of the woods?

Incredible pictures. Looks primitive.
We're calling this year the "un-winter".... so little snow and only occasional cold temps. There is so much green and brown peeking through already.
This is a beautiful bit of exploring!
What beautiful photos. I love places like that that look untouched by man. It's been ages since I stopped by your blog Dawn, but I think I've got to subscribe...your posts are so inspirational for me to make nature exploration an important part of my children's lives.
i love coming here and seeing a few extra photos of your walks...the best balm for the indoor tough places is the outdoors for our family too.
tara: that's funny, i may borrow that one! xo
Thanks Papa. We will have to take you to this spot next time you visit.
Tara. "Un-winter" is so true in terms of snow. It has been plenty cold for this So. Cali girl. Don't know if this blood of mine will ever thicken :)
Laura Jeanne. Thank you! Nature saves us for sure!
Yes Erin. I thought of you and your boys on this walk as we saw some frozen foam in the creek. Fun!
