Great Backyard Birdcount

We have been seeing some fun birds in our hood lately. The most exciting sighting... a huge flock robins followed by an even bigger flock of waxwings.

We learned that they are common winter visitors here in Nova Scotia during winters with lots of fruit on the trees. These flocks are the northern flocks that are wintering in the warm-to-them Nova Scotia. A little mind bending but true!

The Great Backyard Birdcount in easy and fun. For more information you can click here.

Papa... 1 Robin!!! Did I read that right?!
We just had a visit from the sharp shinned hawk. The second time one showed up to be counted for the Backyard Bird Count. Crazy.
