Books. Books. Books

Every so often we do a book rotation.  For them it is like having a library explode in the living room. Old books become new again. Books that once held no interest take center stage. New ideas are hatched...

Tomorrow the hard part.... deciding which books rotate out the the shed.

I can appreciate book rotation. Finally got all of the books out of storage and into the library. Now to get them all set up by author. Trouble is, as I go through the books, I keep stopping to sit down and read a bit of each one. Friendships renewed.

our books seem to move around the house like birds migrate, or like tides. i keep having to go up to the older son's bedroom in the loft to gather things that have washed ashore there and bring them back to the shelves so the younger son has a chance to read them.

last year i finally culled the shelves and donated some books - i think it was the first time i've ever gotten rid of a book *ever*. it was hard!

Hi Dawn! Came over from Camp Creek. We do toy rotation and it is great, because the first few days after are like Christmas -- they are so involved. I've never thought of doing it with books, though. Hmmmm....

I love the book rotation, my mom did that when I was a child. We grew up with not many things. It seems that today's children (at least in the US) aren't as appreciative of books and aren't appreciative of making old things new again. You truly have a lifestyle that everyone should strive for.

Papa... Yes. Their love of books is in their blood for sure! Looking forward to seeing the new library...

Lori... You got rid of books!!! :) I love the idea of books like migrating birds... or tides. As we cleaned out this time it was the summer/spring books that migrated out to the shed along with a few favorites that we be welcomed back with loving hands when they wash back in again.

Pam... Like Christmas. Indeed. It is like that with the books too. Fun!

Laura... Thank you for your kind words. We do love books around here. They are always our first resource when hunting for answers. Love that.
