Weekend fun...

It was great to have Wes home for the weekend...
We decided to head off on an adventure Saturday...
We had been to the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic in Lunenburg during the winter but never in the summer...
It is a great museum but even more fun when we got to go aboard the ships on the wharf...
Fionna spent a lot of time here trying to figure out how things worked...
Dylan was excited to show me the nets and boats inside the museum building but getting pictures in there was a challenge with the low light.
They also had a touch tank and some other hands-on activities.
We even had lunch right there on the wharf.
Great way to spend the day...

But alas the day was not over when we arrived home so we decided to set up the tent and dig out our camping gear.
They loved being in the tent... which is good because we are getting ready for their first real camping trip at the beginning of September. I know. I know. It is a crime that they have not been camping yet... I know!
The tent is still up and hopefully we will stay a night out there this week.

We also did some lounging around on the front porch watching the water, the geese and the clouds roll by...
And a few launch offs from this little Lego plane and it's very expressive pilot...

Today was a little more mellow...
I made some gluten-free casein free chocolate chip cookies from Let's Eat and Be Vegan. They were gobbled up by the kids... (Papa these ones were much better than the last)...
I know I have not talked about some of the dietary changes we have made around here but I will soon...

This evening was spent writing down the length of each dinosaur in this great guidebook... and figuring out the Spinosaurus was longer than T-Rex... and of course would win if they got in a fight.
And playing his version of Battleship... where we team up to fight the "bad guys"... I like his version!

Hope you all had a fun and full weekend...

Just setting up the tent in the backyard makes Owen happy - in the winter we set it up inside!!

Your cookies look delicious :)

Nice to hear you had a "top o' the line" weekend. Mom sold 18 paintings and I played the Riverdale Community Center. Of course, you don't have to please me with the cookies, if the kids luv 'em, that's what counts. Gettin' ready to head to Eastport, Maine. See ya in a few.
